Dr. Casterline is a social demographer who conducts research on the causes and consequences of fertility decline in developing countries. His current research agenda includes components of contemporary fertility decline; fertility decline in sub-Saharan Africa; unintended fertility – estimation, causes, consequences; and family change in the Arab region.
