Three Minute Thesis Competition (OSU Materials Week)
Mar9
Date: March 9, 2017
Location: Blackwell Ballroom
Invitees: MS and PhD students conducting materials-allied research

OSU Materials Week, hosted by the Institute for Materials Research, features a new event this year: the Three Minute Thesis® competition, an academic competition that challenges students to describe their research within three minutes to a general audience. MS and PhD students at The Ohio State University are invited to participate. Research conducted in any topic relevant to materials-allied research is allowable.

Presenting in a 3MT® competition cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. It increases their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Competitors are allowed one PowerPoint slide, but no other resources or props.

Awards will be given to the top 5 finalists, and participants receive complimentary registration to 2017 OSU Materials Week.

The deadline to register is April 7. Learn more
