CDC EIS Meeting with OSU Community
Mar20
Time: 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Date: March 20, 2017
Location: Biomedical Research Tower, room 115
Invitees: Faculty, students, residents and trainees, clinicians, public health practitioners

The CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) invites the Ohio State community to hear MDs, RNs, DVMs, and PhDs share their tales of epidemiologic investigations, and to learn more about the CDC two-year post-graduate fellowship in applied epidemiology.

The EIS are those CDC employees who are often the called in from the CDC to understand epidemics of communicable diseases as well as environmental hazards and emerging health problems such as the opioid crisis. EIS officers will each do presentations on their work over the past two years and desire feedback from the audience in preparation for their annual meeting in Atlanta in June. Scientific disciplines are diverse and include data analytics, biostatistics, anthropology, sociology, etc.

This is an opportunity for faculty and our graduate students to participate with the EIS presentations and become more familiar with the EIS training opportunities.

The meeting, a first for Ohio State, is hosted by the College of Public Health. Registration is requested but not required.

Register now.
