OSU Conference: Materials Week 2017
May9
Date: May 9, 2017
Location: Blackwell Inn and Conference Center

The Institute for Materials Research (IMR) will host its 9th annual Materials Week conference May 9-12 and invites faculty, staff, students, postdocs, and industry partners to participate in the celebration of materials research at Ohio State.

There are several ways to get involved this year in addition to attending the conference’s technical talks:

  • Two student poster sessions where Ohio State students conducting research in any materials-allied field can share their work
  • Volunteer poster judging opportunities for faculty, research staff, postdoctoral researchers, and industry partners
  • Three Minute Thesis competition for MS and PhD students, an academic competition that challenges students to describe their research within three minutes to a general audience

While there is a registration fee to attend 2017 OSU Materials Week, participants in the poster session, poster judges, and Three Minute Thesis participants will receive complimentary registration.

Hosted by Ohio State’s Institute for Materials Research, Materials Week is an annual event that showcases materials-allied research at The Ohio State University and elsewhere. It brings together hundreds of researchers from OSU, other universities, national and government labs, and private industry at plenary sessions, technical talks, and poster sessions covering the full spectrum of materials-allied research.

Registration is $40 for students and $50 for all others through May 8; $50 for students and $60 for all others on site May 9-12.
