Description

The Department of Materials Sciences and Engineering at The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of photovoltaic materials, devices, and/or systems at all ranks (assistant, associate, and full professor) depending upon the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. We seek individuals who are an ardent discoverers and passionate teachers and mentors, with demonstrated records of leadership and collaboration in an academic and/or R&D environment. While candidates with a focus on thin-film photovoltaics are preferred, those with experience in the broader realm of photovoltaic materials synthesis, device fabrication, and characterization are also encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and sustain active sponsored research programs, teach core undergraduate and/or graduate courses, and develop new courses related to their research expertise.

The position is partially funded by the Ohio State's Discovery Themes Initiative, a significant faculty hiring investment in key thematic areas in which the university can build on its culture of academic collaboration to make a global impact.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a doctoral degree in materials science and engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, and have an established record of accomplishment within the photovoltaics field, commensurate with the faculty rank sought. Interest and/or experience in photovoltaics manufacturing, and interdisciplinary interests both within and beyond photovoltaics, is preferred. Applicants should have experience or interest in working within interdisciplinary research teams and be committed to supporting the departmental mission of diversity and inclusion.
