In collaboration with Franklinton Farms, Social Work's Michelle Kaiser, an InFACT Executive Committee member, will offer a summer 2018 service-learning course in thinking critically and engaging in hands-on experiences related to social justice, public health, and environmental sustainability issues in our global food system.
Funded by an InFACT Linkage and Leverage Grant, the Food-mapping for Empowerment, Access, and Sustainable Transformation (FEAST) team is researching how the lived experience of food insecurity differs based on community typology, race and ethnicity, and level of food security.

The Ohio State University at Mansfield held the 2018 Food Systems Symposium March 1 at Oasis of Love Church in Mansfield. Over 100 people attended the event. The goal of the meeting was to discuss how all in the community could work together to create a community-based vision to improve access to safe, affordable and nutritious food.
The Ohio Smart Agriculture: Solutions from the Land initiative seeks to build upon partnerships that have developed as part of a diverse coalition of agricultural, environmental, food security and health leaders across Ohio over the past two years. The goal of the group is to construct a strategy and action plan for making Ohio agriculture and food systems more resilient to face the many challenges ahead.
