Description

The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The Ohio State University invites applications for a 12-month, open rank, tenure-track position (assistant, associate). We seek candidates with expertise in developing and testing innovative intervention approaches (e.g. cardiorespiratory conditioning) for traumatic brain injury (TBI) and/or chronic traumatic encephalopathy to improve patient outcomes, engagement, and participation; including those that facilitate therapeutic translation from mechanistic studies. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong evidence of ability or experience in attaining and conducting extramurally funded research, ability to contribute to one or more of the educational programs within the School (e.g. Athletic Training, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, PhD in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences or undergraduate program in Health Sciences). Eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio, if applicable.

This position is partially funded (50%) by Ohio State's Discovery Themes Initiative (discovery.osu.edu), a significant faculty hiring investment in key thematic areas by which the university is building on its culture of academic collaboration to make a global impact. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to bridge disciplines and work collaboratively. The successful candidate will join a transdisciplinary team of scholars addressing the critical areas of brain injury and cognitive impairment. The faculty member will initiate new transformative research projects with colleagues across campus and thus strengthen the universitys research on the role of brain injury.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent. Successful candidates will likely have doctorates in neuroscience, health and rehabilitation sciences, exercise science, psychology, physiology or other related fields. A strong record of scholarly productivity is expected. Salary will be commensurate with the candidates experience and qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Highly desirable candidates will have post-doctoral training, practical experience, university teaching experience, recent or current grant funding, and experience mentoring members of underrepresented groups.
