University Libraries’ next exhibit in the Thompson Library Gallery, “Mysteries in Ice,” will open on Monday, October 5 and run through January 3, 2016. The interactive exhibition on polar exploration and its impact on understanding earth’s climate is a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center Archival Program. The historical collections of the Polar Archives are featured along with contemporary items that represent current exploration in ice-covered regions. Documents, artifacts, and imagery highlight The Ohio State University’s contribution to our understanding of Earth’s changing climate. The exhibition includes a number of programs, including a showings of films from Admiral Richard Byrd’s expeditions, and a WOSU documentary, “Admiral Byrd: Forged on Ice.”
